Swingset

When we moved to North Carolina, we began the search for another swing set. While we liked the one we had in Virginia, our hope was to get something a little bit bigger, with more to appeal to our growing kids (ages 3 and 7 at the time that we moved).

Our requirements:

  • Fit three swings because we have three kids
  • Have at least one climbing feature – rock wall, rope climb, monkey bars
  • Have a clubhouse
  • Be of good quality to withstand multiple kids, but not break the bank, as we will have to leave it behind in 4 years (ah the joys of being military)

We opted for the Backyard Discovery, Skyfort II swing set off Amazon for a few reasons:

  1. We were familiar with the brand, so we knew the quality was solid
  2. While it didn’t come with 3 swings, we knew that 3 could fit
  3. The monkey bars are perfect for our 7 year old
  4. You can add play sand underneath!
  5. The lookout tower is divine
  6. They offered monthly payments for it

The process of building this swing set is not for the weak, and I say this knowing that I did not help AT ALL. My husband did build this entirely himself and it took him about 3-4 days. I will say that he is a handy person and enjoys building.

And here is the swing set now, 6 months after installation, after enduring a hot, sunny summer and below freezing winter temperatures.
