If you’re anything like me, you love lots of light in your home at all times. If you’re anything like my mother, you prefer your home to be dim enough that guests assume it’s lit by candles. If you’re the latter, this post isn’t for you.
One of the places we opt for a lot of light is in our kitchen. Not only did we upgrade our light bulbs to be 4000K natural white, but we also installed lighting under the kitchen cabinet. This lighting is plugged into the outlet above our microwave, so you don’t have to worry about charging any batteries. With a smart switch, it can be connected to Alexa, but also has a sensor that you can have your hand over to turn on. It’s not as satisfying as the old school clap on lights, but much quieter.
Here’s a side by side of the lights on and off.

And a straight on shot that was taken in the evening (complete with counter kitty, begging for chicken).

Not only does this lighting brighten the kitchen, I positively love it when doing any sort of prep work or cooking!
